Good traditional diner food. Reasonably priced, very nice staff, and some special orders didn't phase them. My daughter is at U of I and we came down for a football game. I would absolutely go back in the future.
The service was prompt, courteous and appropriately attentive. The food was satisfying and large portions. Thr roast beef was tender a d slightly dry, but the gravy made it perfect, should have gotten mash potatoes, but the onion rings were spot on, salad and dressings good, omelet stuffed with deliciousness. Got an oreo malt that was luke the old days. Cute little place, would love to go again! Was a little chilly.
Styled a lot like a 50's diner, serving a variety of burgers, chicken, or fish & chips this is almost a throwback. The burgers a huge and the fries are really tasty with a golden crunch but still tender inside. A wonderful little adventure place.
The portions are huge, I’m a light eater. The atmosphere is nice. Service was fast and food was really good. No complaints here. Our first time and will be back for sure. All the food came out picture perfect. It was amazing.
Had a wonderful diner style dinner. Nina was our server she was very sweet, energetic, and always came back in a timely manner. And they have dairy free milkshakes which was awesome for me!
If you want a real and I mean real chocolate milkshake, this is the place! I also had an order of fries and they were the best french fries I have ever had. Very clean and exceptional customer service. All at a fair price.
OMG! This place is the best! Food was awesome, hot and tasty! Our waitress was super friendly and very courteous. I ordered French toast and two eggs which was wonderful. Could not finish it. My husband got a chicken fried steak salad and a bowl of chili. Also could not finish it because there was so much and it was so good thank you Jack Jack's we will be back.!
As an amateur powerbuilder with the appetite of a small bear preparing for hibernation, I take portion sizes very seriously. Most restaurants leave me wondering if the entrée was actually the appetizer. Not Jack Jack's. The portions here are fantastic for the price, and I always leave full and satisfied without feeling like I need to stop for a second meal on the way home. The food is consistently good, but the real reason I'm writing this review is to give a shoutout to Megan. I came in alone on 6/04/2026, and she went out of her way to make me feel welcome. She chatted with me when she had a moment, and remembered some special instructions about my order from the week before. She kept everything moving quickly, and was genuinely friendly the entire time. What impressed me most was watching how she treated her other tables. Even when dealing with customers who weren't exactly sunshine and rainbows, she stayed upbeat, professional, patient, and cheerful. She has a great smile, a positive attitude, and the kind of customer service that makes people want to come back. In an industry where good service can sometimes feel hard to find, Megan absolutely stands out. She's super friendly, attentive, professional, up-beat, and represents Jack Jack's incredibly well. If you're hungry and want a meal that actually fills you up, Jack Jack's is the place. And if Megan happens to be your waitress, you're in excellent hands. Five. Flipping. Stars. P.S. Did I mention Megan is incredible?
No wonder it's a local's favorite! Great service and good food! Desserts are made in house, too. That chocolate silk pie is thick and chocolaty. Thoroughly enjoyed dinner. We'll be back for more meals.
We had a fantastic breakfast at JackJack's Diner and it was exactly what we needed on our road trip! The food was delicious — classic diner fare done right. Our waitress was incredibly attentive and friendly. We went on a weekday around 9am and it wasn’t too busy, which made for such a pleasant, relaxed experience. We ended up staying a bit longer than usual to catch up on some computer work (life on the road!), and the staff was wonderfully accommodating. She checked on us several times, offering refills on coffee and juice. Retro vibes, great service, and tasty food — we couldn’t ask for more. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the area!
